Abstract
Introduction: Occupational therapists are often challenged in social assistance services to seek resources and technologies, focused on socio-cultural and economic context of target audience of their interventions. Objective: This study describes the process of construction and initial validation of a booklet with guidance on financial management strategies for curators, caregivers and family members of elderly and people with disabilities use social assistance services. Method: This is a methodological study, where twenty two Occupational Therapists reviewed the material, and answered the following instruments: Sociodemographic Questionnaire; Evaluation of the Applicability of Educational Material for Occupational Therapists; Adapted version of the Suitability Assessment of Materials (SAM). Results: The Intraclass Correlation Coefficient (ICC) was used to measure the agreement between the judges, presenting indexes classified as excellent for the Evaluation of the Applicability of Educational Material for Occupational Therapists (ICC = 0,92) and for the SAM (ICC = 0,88). Conclusion: The analysis showed that booklet developed has relevance and applicability to the socio-assistance context, and could stimulate the financial management process.
